During the inauguration, Chief guest Dr. A Subash Babu, Assistant Manager, RIMS said “Remote Sensing & Geographical Information System (GIS) have diversified applications in Water Management, Disaster Management, Crop Yield Estimation, Traffic Management,Landslides Forecast, Zonation of Earthquake prone areas, Mining and Mineral Exploration etc. Principal Prof. K V L Raju said “Now a days water management is a very important aspect which everyone has to look into, and MVGR is progressing in that direction by adopting rain water harvesting techniques, ground water recharge pits, purifying and reusing black water for plantation etc. and Remote Sensing & GIS tools are crucial in water management".

Valedictory Session 28th March 2018

The key note speaker Dr. G Gowtham, Co-Founder & Director, KAIINOS Geospatial Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Said “RS & GIS have become essential tool in water management techniques and there are so many open source tools are available in the market. So students should use those tools in water management programming”. Another speaker Mr. A Sai Kumar, Research Scholar, IIT Roorkee has explained different the water management techniques adopted in A.P state's capital city Amaravathi. Principal Dr. K V L Raju appreciated Dept. of Civil Engg. for conducting the event successfully and he opined that these kind of events will bridge the gap between theory and practice. Convener & HOD Dr. P Markandeyaraju , Co-convener Dr. S Chandramouli thanked everyone for making this event a grand success. Mr. A.Vara Prasad, the event coordinator, thanked all the participants from other colleges for their active participation.
