MVGR College of Engineering, vizianagaram, celebrated 72ndIndependence Day. Dr.KVLRaju, Principal, hoisted the national flag and he reviewed the parade taken up by NCC team of the college. He spoke about the significance of the historic day and urged the students to become model citizens of the nation. On the occasion, students participated in various cultural events with great patriotic fervour. Mr.AdithyaSrinivas, Chemical IV year student, gave presentation onBiomimcrydescribing the essence of developing sustainable technology.The other list of programmes include patriotic songs,speeches, stories depicting Pre- independence struggle of great leaders were organized by students. These varied programmes staged by students mark tributes to freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country.In the context, the family of MVGR College of engineering offered tributes to the two martyrs of vizianagaram. (Late).Mr. KV Raman, ranked as NAIK, (kanapakamandal, vizianagaram) who demised in Kargil war on 2.3.2000 and Mr.MessalaSrinivas Rao, (Mentada,Vizanagaram) was killed in a militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 26.9.2013. MVGRCE took the opportunity of honoring the bereaved families of the martyrs from Vizianagaram district. On the occasion, P. Ashok GajapathiRaju, Chairman, MANSAS, stated that the greatest of all sacrifices is life. He paid tributes to the great souls who died for the nation. He opined that gaining independence was a continuous process and it is a result of great sacrifices of people over generations. He said “I am happy to be here at MVGR since the true spirit of independence has been practised in remembering and paying tributes to the martyrs of the land”. He also stressed that it is essential to know its history and culture for its future prosperous growth. At this point, He emphasized that India should move towards sustainable development to remain on one of top positions among other nations. Raju , governing body member, MANSAS graced the occasion and gave away the prizes to winners of cultural and literary events. Further, MVGR management has arranged free meals to around 1000 people in the honour of the Martyrs of the land at ANNA canteen,RTC Complex, viziangaram.
