NSS Unit conducted Clean India Campaign 2.0 in a grand manner

Taking the call of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, the MVGR NSS Unit has conducted clean India campaign 2.0 in the college premises and created awareness in the nearby villages. Each NSS volunteer collected almost 1.5 kgs plastic waste in the college premises which
makes them able to collect around 10 kgs plastic waste on a single day under the leadership of MVGR NSS PO, Mr. N Shanmukha Rao. They interacted with many fellow students and highlighted the importance of the disposal of waste, especially plastic waste, at the public places in appropriate locations. Later they visited Kirana shops, fast food stalls, restaurants which were situated nearby college and villages to create awareness on the use of single use plastic, its separation from other waste and its safe disposal in bins provided by municipality/panchayat authorities.

Mr. N Shanmukha Rao, MVGR NSS PO told that all NSS volunteers and few others students were greatly responded and participated in this clean India campaign 2.0. They were able to create awareness on students and local villagers on the use and safe disposal of plastic waste. He stated that from this campaign, they were able to collect around 10 kgs of plastic waste in the college premises and about 35 kgs of plastic waste in nearby villages, shops, restaurants,etc. which were not disposed at provided dustbins or places. Programs like these will help the people to understand the ill effects of plastic waste and the importance of safe disposal of it.


In this campaign, NSS PO Mr. N. Shanmukha Rao, Dr. B Sarva Rao, Chemical Dept. HoD,Staff, NSS Student Volunteers and students were present.
