The college was established in the year 1997 by Maharaj Alak Narayan Society for Arts and Sciences (MANSAS). MANSAS was established in 1958 by the erstwhile Raja Saheb of Vizianagaram, (Late) Dr. P V G Raju. It offers KG to PG level education in Arts, Sciences, Engineering and Management across 13 Institutes. Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering is one of the 13 institutes.
