MVGR NSS Unit Celebrates International Yoga Day 2026

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of MVGR College of Engineering enthusiastically celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 by organizing a series of β€œY-Break @ Workplace Yoga at Chair” sessions across various academic and administrative departments of the institution.

The initiative aimed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, stress management, and mindfulness among faculty members by encouraging the practice of simple chair-based yoga techniques that can be seamlessly integrated into daily workplace routines. The sessions highlighted the importance of taking short wellness breaks during work hours to enhance overall health, concentration, and productivity.

A special yoga awareness session was conducted by Sri S. Mohan Kumar, Dean, who emphasized the significance of incorporating yoga into everyday life. He explained how regular yoga practice contributes to improved physical health, mental clarity, emotional balance, and workplace efficiency. He also encouraged faculty members to adopt yoga as a sustainable lifestyle practice for long-term well-being.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from Mr. N. Shanmukha Rao, NSS Program Officer, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and staff. Participants actively engaged in the Y-Break protocol, practicing simple stretches, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques designed specifically for workplace environments.
