MVGR College of Engineering Celebrates the 77th Republic Day with Patriotic Spirit
MVGR College of Engineering celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great pride, patriotism, and enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution—unity, discipline, and democratic responsibility. The celebrations began with the inspiring lines, “Saare jahaan se achha, Hindustan hamara…”, setting a solemn and uplifting tone for the occasion.
The program commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Sri P. S. Sitharama Raju Garu, Director, followed by his address to the gathering, in which he emphasized constitutional values, national unity, and the responsibility of youth in nation building. The event was further graced by the presence of Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar Garu, Principal, Prof. R Ramesh Garu, Provost, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and enthusiastic participation from NCC, NSS, FYFP, and CLAD teams.
A vibrant Republic Day Parade by MVGR NCC boys and girls, NSS volunteers, and the CLAD team showcased disciplined formations, coordination, and patriotic spirit. One of the major highlights of the celebrations was the breathtaking CLAD Silent Drill, which culminated in the prestigious Sword of Honour Ceremony, presented in recognition of exemplary leadership and outstanding performance to Shaik Nazeer (CSE).
The program also featured captivating martial art demonstrations, including a traditional Karra Saamu performance by NCC cadet Vanaja and a high-energy Nunchuck display by Subhosri, reflecting agility, precision, and discipline. Cultural performances by the Dance Club further enriched the celebrations, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity.
Awards and Recognitions
As part of the Republic Day celebrations, MVGR College of Engineering honored Best Volunteers from NSS and FYFP in recognition of their consistent participation in community service, leadership in student engagement activities, dedication to social responsibility, mentoring support, and active involvement in institutional initiatives, contributing significantly to a vibrant campus ecosystem.

Jagannadha Raju Garu, whose leadership and commitment ensured a meaningful celebration for the entire campus community.
