On account of Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye campaigning program, MVGR NSS Unit organized a special talk on Thursday for all the prospective first-time voters in the campus. Prof. P. S. Sitarama Raju, Director-MVGR was invited to deliver the talk.

In this regard, Sitharama Raju garu encouraged all first-time voters to participate in elections which is crucial for a healthy democracy. He stated that selling vote is like selling your self-respect and selling your future and being A voter it is the responsibility of the elected leader to fulfill the well-beings of the voters, the same is the need for the people of India to contribute to choosing the correct leader for their representation. He advised students to vote for people who will ensure your long-term future, who will do the things which will help in building the country keeping the long-term goals.

Addressing the gathering, he said that child nutrition, primary education to all, universal healthcare are the basic amenities which everyone should get. So, government should ensure that through the taxes it collects, it can create a mechanism where everyone has, irrespective of what they are doing, access to basic primary education, child nutrition and ensuring life security for old age people in terms of money pensions. If government is focused on running businesses, they will forget these things. These are the essential aspects which governments have to work on. So, your vote is very important because you have to think first of all about what you are electing for.

He advised students to cast their vote to give the government the authority to defend their rights. You want governments that will guarantee the municipal bodies' autonomy and ability to make decisions without interference. To provide services to everyone, regardless of their political affiliation, caste, gender, or anything else that may distinguish them. Public services ought to be accessible to everybody. The same set of services ought to be available to everyone. You cannot restrict someone's access to services based on their gender, caste, or political preferences. So, he urged students to use their vote effectively and think about the choices they are making because they make a difference to the country, to the state, and to the local... Everywhere your vote will make a difference. Make wise choices, help the country move forward
