CPR Awareness and Training Program Conducted at MVGR College of Engineering

As part of Project VIKAS (Week-1: 2025–2026), the FYFP (From the Youth, For the People) Club, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of MVGR College of Engineering, successfully organized a CPR Awareness and Training Program on 21 February 2026 at MVGR College of Engineering.

The program was graced by the esteemed presence of the Principal, Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar, who emphasized that CPR is a vital life-saving skill that every educated individual should learn. He highlighted that such training programs not only enhance emergency preparedness but also build confidence, teamwork, and social responsibility among students. He encouraged participants to spread awareness and contribute positively to society by being prepared to handle emergency situations.

In his address, Dr. K. Satyanarayana Raju spoke about the important role of youth in community service and emergency response. He stressed that timely CPR intervention can significantly improve survival rates during cardiac arrest and appreciated the collaborative efforts of the FYFP Club and NSS in organizing such a meaningful program. The Head of the Department of ECE, along with senior faculty members from ECE, EEE, and other departments, were also present, demonstrating strong institutional support for the program.

The training session was conducted by Dr. Krishna Chaitanya and PhD Scholar Sai from MIMS College, who served as expert trainers for the program. They delivered a comprehensive and well-structured session that combined theoretical knowledge with practical demonstrations. Through clear explanations and step-by-step guidance, they ensured that participants understood the correct CPR procedures and the importance of immediate response during cardiac emergencies.

During the session, the trainers explained key aspects of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), including recognizing cardiac arrest symptoms, understanding the importance of the “Golden Minutes” in saving lives, and following proper CPR procedures according to standard safety guidelines. They also demonstrated the correct hand positioning and compression techniques required to perform CPR effectively, while emphasizing the importance of confidence and calmness during emergency situations.

The practical demonstrations and hands-on training enabled students to gain real-time experience, boosting their confidence to respond effectively in critical situations. The session not only enhanced their technical knowledge but also instilled a sense of responsibility and preparedness among the participants.

The FYFP Club, a proactive student-led organization dedicated to developing socially responsible and service-driven individuals, organized the program under the guidance of Dr. K. Satyanarayana Raju, the Convener of the club. His mentorship and direction continue to inspire students to actively participate in community-oriented initiatives.

The collaboration between FYFP, NSS, MVGR College of Engineering, and medical experts from MIMS College made the program highly impactful, bridging the gap between medical knowledge and student awareness. The session emphasized that CPR is not just a medical skill but a civic responsibility that every individual should learn, encouraging students to be prepared to save lives during emergencies.
