MVGR-IIC Organizes Expert Talk on Research Paper Writing and Journal Publication

MVGR College of Engineering (Autonomous), through its Institution’s Innovation Council (MVGR-IIC), successfully organized the IIC 8.0 Quarter I Level-1 Expert Talk titled “Research Paper Writing and Journal Publication Support” on 03 January 2026 in offline mode under the thrust area of Research and Development. The program aimed to enhance faculty competencies in research writing, publication readiness, and ethical scholarly communication, aligned with institutional quality and accreditation goals.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. V. R. Sankar Cheela, Coordinator, MVGR-IIC, who emphasized the importance of quality research publications in academic excellence, institutional development, and global visibility. He highlighted the objectives of the program, stressing structured research writing practices, adherence to publication ethics, and alignment with quality benchmarks.

The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar, Principal, MVGR College of Engineering (Autonomous), who underscored the strategic role of research publications in faculty professional growth and accreditation processes. Prof. R. Ramesh, Provost, and Dr. M. Siva Subramanyam, IIC President, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering a strong and ethical research ecosystem.

Session 1, conducted by Dr. D. V. Raghu Vamsi, Associate Professor, Department of Science & Humanities, focused on the fundamentals of research paper writing, manuscript structure, and publication standards.

Session 2, delivered by Dr. K. Uma Mahesh Yadav, Assistant Professor, emphasized ethical writing practices, plagiarism awareness, referencing norms, and the effective use of academic writing and reference management tools.

The workshop witnessed active participation from 48 faculty members across departments. The offline mode enabled effective interaction, real-time clarification of queries, and the exchange of best practices. Participants reported improved understanding of scientific publishing norms, ethical compliance requirements, and practical manuscript preparation skills.

The program significantly strengthened faculty preparedness for publishing in indexed journals and supported institutional research objectives aligned with NAAC and NBA quality frameworks. Overall, the activity was well planned and executed, receiving positive feedback and reinforcing the research culture at MVGR College of Engineering. The active involvement of the Principal, Provost, and IIC leadership highlighted the institution’s strong commitment to research excellence and academic advancement.
